2010 Remembering Mom Scholarship Recipient
I am a 2010 graduate of the Cambridge School of Dallas, and my plan is to attend Mary Hardin Baylor University where I will earn my nursing degree. With this degree I want to work with orphans who have also lost a parent as I have. Reaching out to help those in need, I know I feel my mother's presence. Because of her teachings and example, I never want to lose hope or lessen my drive to live in such a way that will bring honor to my loved ones – especially my mom.
My school extracurricular activities include golfing, cross country, basketball, volleyball, as well as school drama productions and the school choirs. I have been very involved in the community by working with orphanages in Guatemala, school counseling sessions, as well as the South Dallas Homeless Ministry (winter clothing drive, food for the homeless during holidays, as well as summer Habitat for Humanities), vacation Bible School volunteer, and conducting weeklong summer art camps.
